Who’s in the band and what do they play?
Current line up is:
Alexandra L – Guitar
Terra – Vox / tamborine / stage presence
Robin – Bass
Matt – Drums
When and how did you become a band?
Alex (Bonehead / me) had been writing and recording songs for a long time, and forming different bands through out the years. After meeting Terra and starting to jam and write songs I decided to form a group. I worked with Matt and turns out he was an amazing drummer and wanted to be a part of the group and Robin found some time in his busy liquor store tending / Primitiv Parts masterminding schedule to play bass for us and he’s great.
How did you decide on your band name?
Somebody already took the name “Danzig”
Tell us about your first show.
What was our first show…hmm…aside from late night jams in the attic where we would perform for people, I think the first show was at PJ’s last winter. We did some covers, it wasn’t anything fantastic, I’d say the second show was way better!
Can you describe your music?
Someone recently said to me, jokingly, “Well I smoked crack and listened to your music and it ruined my high.” So something like that.
What bands (or other things) are your influences/inspiration?
The Viletones and sexy girls
Gear talk: instruments/pedals/amps
Pedal boards are a deal breaker, we use the cheapest gear I could find on Craigslist.
Who are your favorite Detroit bands?
We like everything and everyone that plays music in Detroit, I have anxiety attacks whenever I get 15 miles outside the city. Matt says he loves the Amino Acids!
What has been the biggest challenge of being a band in Detroit?
Coordinating schedules, everyone works, it’s like playing Tetris.
What do you want everyone to know about your band?
We like GG Allin & we DGAF
Any other comments/shout outs?
Everyone playing the BFF Fest pre-party and the actual showcase, love the Seraphine Collective and everything they do for the ladies in the music scene
